URGENT ATTENTION!  See the message below regarding ARRA funding for
October payrolls. The requests will need to be in no later than close of
business today--10/19. Sorry for the short notice.

Otherwise, you'll need to plan for use following October 26th!

Sheri,

The system we use to draw federal ARRA money for the Higher Ed payrolls
will be down from Oct 20 through 25.  This means we will not be able to
request money after Oct 20 until Oct 26.  The only universities that
have a
biweekly payroll during that time are 120, 480, and 760, payable on the
23rd.  At this time it does not appear that they are using the
Governor's
stimulus for their bi-weekly payrolls.  If they are planning to use any
Governor's stimulus for the bi-weekly payable on the 23rd, we will need
to
order the money before noon on the 20th.  This means that the request
will
need to be forwarded to us before the 20th.

Additionally, if OCCC is planning to request any non-payroll draw, it
will
have to be requested before the 20th or after the 25th.

Dear SFSF Directors:
We wanted to remind you that G5 will be unavailable from 3:00 PM Eastern
time on Tuesday, Oct. 20 until 6:00 AM Eastern time on Monday, October
26.
The Department of Education is in the process of implementing Phase 2 of
the G5 Grants Management System.  During the transition period, the G5
System will be unavailable for all activities including payment
drawdowns.
We encourage you to contact the SFSF team ahead of time if you plan to
request a drawdown before the G5 shutdown so we can approve your
request,
if required.  Please send an e-mail with your PR Award Number, amount to
be
drawn down, a brief explanation of how the funds will be spent, and an
acknowledgement that funds will be spent in accordance with the CMIA
procedures outlined in the attached letter.  Please send your e-mail to
Carolyn Lampila at Carolyn.Lampila at ed.gov and Jimmy Yun at
Jimmy.Yun at ed.gov

Please see attached guidance describing the recommended drawdown process
in
preparation for the shutdown period.  Once the G5 System has been
restored
to service, the payment drawdown process will be unchanged.
