Greetings! The 2011 Oklahoma Women in Higher Education conference will
be held Friday, November 18, 2011 at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Please review this information about the conference and forward this
message to others you that might have interest in this professional
development opportunity.
Our keynote speaker this year will be Dr. Patricia Cormier, the newly
retired President of Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia, an
institution that is one of the 15 four-year public universities in
Virginia. She served in that capacity for 14 years and moved the
institution to a position of academic excellence in program offerings,
including the recent addition of a state-of-the-art nursing program with
high levels of technological support. Her contributions to the
professional community are extensive, having served on several
Governor's commissions, as chair and a member of the Board of the
American Association of State Colleges and Universities, on the
Leadership Commission and the chair of the Fellows Program of the
American Council of Education, as a Commissioner of the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools, and as Chair of the Presidents'
Council and member of the Executive Committee of the National Collegiate
Athletic Association. Dr. Cormier is known to be an engaging speaker
and we are pleased to have her joining us this year.

The meeting will be all day Friday, November 18 in the University Center
at UCO, with a networking reception on Thursday night, November 17 at
the Martini Lounge in Edmond. Registration fees are $60 ($30 for
students). Also, Requests for Proposals for presentations at the
conference are due by October 15 to Dr. Tami Moser (form available on
the website). A brochure with the full agenda will be posted soon!

Our annual fraud prevention seminar "Frontline of Defense against
Fraud" will be hosted by UCO on November 30th starting at 10:00 am.
The free seminar and lunch is being presented by our generous sponsors
including, The Regional University System of Oklahoma, The College
Association of Liability Management, Oklahoma State University and our
host the University of Central Oklahoma. Currently we plan to offer
five hours of CPE at this seminar. We have room for approximately 100
at this event and look forward to seeing everyone again this year. A
more detailed brochure will be forwarded next week, but we wanted
everyone to have this in order to save the date.

Subject: [Cobo] FY13 Academic Services Fees Request Forms

Attached are forms for requesting changes to academic services fees for
FY13 and a preliminary schedule. The deadline for submitting the forms
is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
There are five categories in Academic Services Fee changes forms (see
tabs):
1) Special Instruction Fees
2) Facility/Equipment Utilization Fees
3) Testing/Clinical Service Fees
4) Classroom/Laboratory Supply & Material Fees
5) Other Special Fees
For each fee which will be changing, the corresponding request for
change to academic and services fee form must be submitted. As in the
past, duplicate submission occurred occasionally when fee changes were
submitted in multiple spreadsheets. Therefore, we prefer each
institution or campus submit all fees change forms in one spreadsheet
under different tabs for each request form.
As institutions propose fee changes as well as approval processes on
campus and by the boards. Please complete all applicable columns before
submitting request forms to OSRHE:
1) Be specific about the Name of Fee, Course Prefix, and Course Numbers
2) Accurate amounts on Current Fee, Proposed Fee, and the Change
3) Fee to be assessed by Per Credit Hour, Per Course, Per Semester, or
Annually
4) Fee to be assessed to Lower Division, Upper Division, Graduate Level,
or Professional programs
5) Indication of if the change is for a new fee
6) The date fee was last changed and the date approved by local
governing board
7) Comments, description, and any supporting documents for the fee
changes
8) The amounts for Projected New Revenue for FY13, Estimated Revenue for
FY12 and Total Projected Revenue for FY13

Dear University/School Representative,
PLEASE FORWARD MESSAGE TO UNIVERSITY/SCHOOL BUSINESS OFFICIALS.
If you have not already been notified via the attached letter, the
Department of Defense (DOD) has revised/updated the Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) governing the acceptance of Federal Tuition
Assistance (FTA) payments for Service Member's (SM) voluntary civilian
education. DOD has placed a deadline of 31 December 2011 for all
institutions to have a signed MOU on record. If a school/university does
not have a signed MOU on file by 31 December 2011, then our Oklahoma
National Guard SMs will not be able to utilize FTA to attend your
institution on or after 1 January 2012. More information about this DOD
MOU can be found at www.dodmou.com.
This office will be sending out the attached "FYI-Update" document via
distribution email to as many National Guard Units as possible in order
to inform our SMs about this issue and its' potential circumstances.
There is an understanding that schools/universities will make their
decisions based on what is best for their institutions. Please review
the DOD MOU and give proper attention and consideration. If your
institution can agree to the conditions of the DOD MOU, then please
perform the necessary steps to have a signed DOD MOU on record by 31
December 2011. If your institution has issues with signing the DOD MOU,
then please address those issues through www.dodmou.com and/or State
government officials. Thank you.
