Some agencies may be taking advantage of these discounts on a sporadic basis, but there has been no statewide initiative to maximize savings from early payment discounts - until now. CAR, Central Purchasing and Information Services are collaborating on an initiative to maximize early payment discounts. This initiative will result in some business practice changes that will affect all state agencies. Ensuring that each agency understands this initiative and has an opportunity to participate in the discussion is vital to its success. OMES is offering three opportunities for interested agency personnel to learn about the plan, pose questions and voice concerns. We recommend that each agency has someone attend one of the in-person sessions. Additionally, the Board of Equalization unanimously voted to approve our FY18 funding estimate for Oklahoma's Promise scholarships in the amount of $74.3 million, which the State Regents previously approved at our October 20, 2016 State Regents meeting.
