Subject:          Update on FY2020 Budget Agreement


As an update to my memo on Monday, May 13 regarding FY2020 budget negotiations, I wanted to let you know that a press conference was held at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon announcing that agreement had been reached among the Governor, House, and Senate for the FY2020 budget. I have attached a copy of the announcement that was distributed during the press conference for your review.

As you can see from the announcement, under the proposed FY2020 budget agreement, higher education is programmed to receive $28 million "to bolster research programs and provide a salary increase for college teachers." The press conference did not go into additional details regarding the breakdown of the proposed $28 million appropriation to higher education.

I have also attached a copy of an article that was posted to the Tulsa World website regarding the budget agreement

We will keep you advised as the FY2020 budget agreement bill progresses through the House and Senate.
