This information was shared with your President this afternoon. From: Blanke, Debbie Sent: Wednesday, December 1, 2021 2:57 PM To: Presidents Cc: Garrett, Allison ; Senior Cabinet ; Badges Subject: Coursera Learning Programs Available Presidents, As a follow up to the discussion at the Wednesday, December 1, 2021 Council of Presidents' Academic Affairs meeting, through our partnership with Coursera, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) have multiple scholarship licenses available for distribution at no cost to the institution or learner that provide access to the following eight learning programs: * Google Data Analytics * Google Project Management * Google IT Support * Google UX Design * Google IT Automation with Python * Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 Exam Prep * Microsoft Azure Fundamentals DP-900 Exam Prep * Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AI-900 Exam Prep Each of these programs contains multiple courses which can be taken to earn certificates at no cost to the learner or institution. For those which require a fee-based certification exam, the exam is available at a discounted rate. These scholarship licenses are being made available to: 1) institutions NOT engaged with Coursera to explore how these technical learner programs may be of useful to your institution; and 2) institutions with Coursera memberships that have exhausted the scholarship licenses included in your membership. To request OSRHE Coursera scholarship licenses to access the programs listed above, contact Brad Griffith at badges at osrhe.edu and provide the following information: * Name (First and Last) * Email address If requesting multiple licenses, you may submit the information as a .csv spreadsheet file. Important enrollment information: Once the license has been issued to a user, they will receive an email invitation inviting them to join the scholarship program where they will have access to enroll in any of the courses listed above. Due to the limited availability of licenses, users not active within a 30-day period after gaining access may lose access and have to reapply for a scholarship seat as available (NOTE: the individual's progress in the learning program is saved, so they can resume where they left off). Subject to demand, OSRHE may also provide a minimum 14-day revocation of access notice to its longest-enrolled users (also able to reapply to resume progress) to provide the opportunity to other individuals. We look forward to working with all of you and your institutions to provide these professional development opportunities at no cost to your institution or the learner. Please contact me or email Brad Griffith at badges at osrhe.edu for more information. Happy December!! Debbie Blanke, Ed.D. Garrett Date: Monday, December 27, 2021 Subject: Update on Board of Equalization Meeting – FY23 General Revenue Estimate and FY23 Oklahoma’s Promise Funding Request The state Board of Equalization met today to provide the first estimates of anticipated funding available for FY23 appropriations and to take action on the FY23 Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship funding request. During the meeting, the Board of Equalization considered the State Regents’ FY23 funding request for the Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship program in the amount of $64.8 million, with the recommendation for $6.0 million to be funded from the Oklahoma’s Promise Trust Fund reserves and $58.8 million to be allocated from the state General Revenue Fund. We discussed the FY23 Oklahoma’s Promise funding request with Board of Equalization members prior to their meeting this afternoon. During our meetings with Board of Equalization members, we let them know that just over 100,000 students have earned the Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship since the program’s inception in 1992 and that our state system of higher education greatly appreciates their support on behalf of Oklahoma’s students and families. At the conclusion of the FY23 Oklahoma’s Promise funding request presentation during this afternoon’s meeting, the Board of Equalization unanimously voted to approve our FY23 funding request for the Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship program. Voting in favor of the request were Governor Kevin Stitt, Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell, State Treasurer Randy McDaniel, State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister, and State Auditor & Inspector Cindy Byrd. Two members were not present for today’s meeting (Attorney General John O’Connor and Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur). Additionally, the Board of Equalization approved an FY23 General Revenue estimate from all certified and authorized funds in the amount of $9.54 billion, which represents an increase of $808.2 million (9.3%) over the current $8.7 billion appropriated for FY22. The strong outlook for additional funds available to the Legislature for appropriation during the upcoming legislative session underscores the importance of advocating for our FY23 system-wide funding request for higher education over the next few months. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. Allison Allison D.
