January 26, 2010, Governor Brad Henry and the Legislature announced that they
have reached an agreement on a plan to address the $1 billion shortfall in the
current fiscal year’s budget (FY’10).<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 color=black face="Times New Roman"><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>The plan reflects the Governor and
Legislative leadership’s continued efforts to make Higher Education a
priority during this difficult economic time. The agreement provides a
supplemental appropriation of $25.5 million to the Oklahoma State System of Higher
Education. This supplemental appropriation will reduce higher
education’s annualized reduction from 7.5 percent to 4.32 percent.
In comparison, other State agencies will receive a 7.5 percent annualized
reduction for this fiscal year.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
