[COPLAC-IR] NSSE response rates & incentives?

This is what we tried:

 

                Freshmen           Seniors               Incentives

2016       25%                        26%                   N

2014       20%                        30%                   Y

 

In 2014 we tried giving out small prizes (branded USAO school supplies and
ramen cups) to every student who took the NSSE. Three winners were chosen
from completed survey takers for prize packs of more gear. One grand prize
winner won a disc golf set and a prize pack.

 

In 2016 we did not offer any incentives for taking the NSSE.

Hi Everyone!

 

Truman is trying to decide whether to attempt to increase response rates on
the NSSE by offering an incentive or maintain the status quo if our response
rates are similar to the other COPLAC schools.  Would you please provide me
with your institution's last 2 NSSE administration response rates for
freshmen and seniors?  And if you offer an incentive to your students to
participate, would you also tell me your incentive?

 

Truman's response rates without an incentive have been:

                Freshmen           Seniors

2016       35%                        29%

2015       33%                        27%
