As you know, each participating college or university will receive a tailored, confidential report reflecting the number of students eligible to register to vote, the percentage that registered to vote, the percentage that voted, where they voted (near campus or elsewhere), and their voting methods (traditional or absentee ballot).<br>

Our timeline: Voting records take time to compile, and we recently learned that the records are coming in a little slower than anticipated. We won’t be receiving de-identified lists until mid-May. We aim to send you a report in June.<br>

Identifying comparison groups: We’re aware that your institution’s numbers will have more significance once you receive 2014 and 2016 data. You can, however, increase the value of your report right now by identifying comparison groups for your institution. Groups might include:<br>
<br>
1. Peer institutions identified via the Carnegie Classification System. This will be your default comparison group.<br>
<br>
2. Other pre-existing groups: You might be a member of a research consortium or a consortium organized by region, institutional type, or institutional commitment. You will need to let us know about these groups and which campuses are members.<br>
<br>
3. Aspirational peers: You can identify specific institutions (no fewer than eight) and request comparisons.<br>
<br>
Keep in mind that we will not disclose your institution’s rates nor the rates of comparison group institutions. Instead, we’ll give you the range of voting rates, the average, and where your numbers fall.<br>
<br>
What you need to do:<br>

> Tell us if you prefer #2 or #3. We’ll need specific names of consortia or comparison institutions. If you can, please send us the name and contract information for an individual on those campuses whom we can contact directly, someone likely to get excited about this study. If you prefer to talk this through/brainstorm this with us, no problem. Email me and we’ll set up a time.<br>

> Help us recruit your peers: Contact your colleagues at peer institutions and tell them about the study. I've attached a one-pager on NSVLE that you can forward.
