ACA Reporting Using the Final Forms and Instructions In 2016, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires large employers and employers that sponsor self-funded plans to report extensive and detailed data for the calendar year that began January 1, 2015. Because the ACA's reporting requirements are complex and highly technical, employers are strongly encouraged to begin planning now. American Fidelity Administrative Services can help employers understand what is required and develop an action plan for ACA compliance. Please join American Fidelity Administrative Services for a webinar on May 14, 2015 covering the following: * Who is required to report under Internal Revenue Code Section 6055 and Section 6056; * Information required by Section 6055 and 6056; * Responsibilities of insured, self-funded, and government-administered major medical plans; * Combined reporting for large employers that sponsor self-funded plans; and * Clarifications and updates from the final IRS Forms 1094, 1095 and instructions Date: Thursday, May 14, 2015 Time: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. CDT REGISTER HERE As your educational resource on ACA, American Fidelity Administrative Services values helping and providing tools for our customers to stay on top of the ACA rules. I entered my answers below each question. 1. Did I understand that OMES will be doing the tax reporting for 2015. That would include W-2's , 1099's and 1095's? a. Yes, OMES intends to provide the 2015 reporting as with previous years, separate reporting will be in effect for the 2016 calendar year. 2. If OMES is doing the 1095's, how are they getting the information to complete that form? a. OMES is working to determine information that will be necessary for the 1095. Our goal is to release the specifications by the end of June but it is contingent on IRS publishing specifications for electronic filing.
