[Counselors] Test scores

We looked at several factors in August when determining who needed remediation (teacher recommendation, STAR scores, grades from the previous year, attendance) and have already placed many students in remediation. Few of those we placed passed. We are going to add the new test scores to our spreadsheet and look at the overall picture when determining students that can be moved out. Chances are we will not move anyone out. Our class sizes are already big and we do not have the staff to add another remediation class, so we will probably not move anyone into remediation unless it is absolutely needed.

Subject: [Counselors] Test scores

Now that we have test scores, what are schools doing for remediation? What programs or best practices are being used to remediate students? What programs or assessments are schools using to assess proficiency so the student can "get out" of remediation? We want to prepare the students for spring 2018 testing, but need some new ideas. Thanks!
