[Counselors] AP Classes

We require a summer reading (The Great Gatsby) for our 9th grade Pre-AP students. There are a packet of questions that go with it. Students moving in who wish to take Pre-AP are given two weeks to complete the assignment.

Can I please find out how many districts require their students to do a summer assignment that will be counted as a  grade due on the 1st day of school for their AP classes (and PreAP English) ?  If so do you wave the summer assignment for a student that moves in or just give them extended time to complete the assignment. Thank you
