This gives us an idea of how many sections are needed for each class. We usually have a skeleton of the master schedule before summer break, but there are usually changes as we accommodate shared teacher schedules and changes. The high school shares some teachers with middle school, so it takes some time to coordinate the teacher/hour needs and availability. The student scheduling is usually done later in the summer when we have all the information needed and the master is set in stone (alt least somewhat). We use our SIS auto scheduler to schedule student requests (entered in spring), and then refine each schedule by going through each student. Hope that helps... I create one as soon as we have the teachers hired for the following year. It usually happens in the spring before I leave. We do pre-enrollment on paper and I work on it during the summer to get all students registered in class before school opens for fall. The administration wants all schedules to go out 1 week before the start of the school year. Barbara Ramos Director of Education Sac and Fox Nation barbara.ramos at sacandfoxnation-nsn.gov (918) 968-3526, Ext. 2046 I remember a few years ago it was a necessity to keep a hiv aids prevention kit in all teachers and counselor’s desks. Gloves, mask, sterile wipes and the like. Perhaps something like that could be possible and even think about getting health providers involved because there could be some expense to it. Go on line and research how to make a first aid kit. State department should have some information as well.😊 (Lisa has sent an email to SDE asking for any information, waiting on a response) Happy end of the year all!!
