[Counselors] State Testing - 11th Grade Science

This is the link to the graduation guidance on assessments from the SDE.


I had called SDE in March to check on this and received the same information as Kristy Hernandez relayed in her email. Only students enrolled in 11th grade are required to test. Students like the ones you mentioned fall under the "local decision" and "if it is required in your school's graduation policy" just as she stated in her email.

 Does anyone know how the 11th grade science test works for Alternative Education students who moved into 12th grade this year?  Can they opt-out as they can with the ACT, or do we have to enroll them in the 11th grade science test as a senior?
