For example I had students take Algebra II at a tech center. I transcribe it just like a reg math taken at high school. Some were calling it "freshman success" and they would do ICAP, PFL, CPR all that kind of stuff in the class. Is anyone been doing something like this and have materials, syllabus or pacing calendar they would be willing to share. I want to do this but trying to give the teacher some help on how to setup the class. *Dawn Wallace, M.Ed.* *School Counselor* *Okmulgee High School* *dwallace at okmulgeeps.com * *918-758-2075 Ext. 3114* -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We use the online PFL program through Tulsa Teacher's Credit Union. The students receive a grade for completing each module. Some teachers take their classes to the computer lab to work on it in larger chunks, but for the most part the students are charged with doing it on their own as homework. Unfortunately, some students do not complete it and earn the required certificate. Then it becomes the counselor's role to continue to follow up with those kids until it is complete. I have my own "class" in the TTCU program that I roll them to so I can monitor them and they can still log in and work from where they left off. We do CPR through our freshmen PE classes. As for ICAP, we are planning to use advisory periods (hopefully) to do lessons in Naviance for ICAP. It's probably too much to put all three of those "extra requirements" on the OK History teacher because they still have to get through their OK History curriculum too. Even after several years, we still get some pushback about them having to do PFL. Jennifer Sack, Counselor Booker T. Washington 1514 E.
