This is going to occur when the student enters differing information on their answer documents from what they enter when they first created their student account, or if they create multiple accounts with differing information. Please remind students to use the same information when setting these up. If a student has an existing account when they take the statewide ACT or paper/pencil ACT, the information will sync up-if the information is the same! That is if the student bubbles in the same name (using full name, not nickname), same birthday, same email, etc. on the answer document that they used when they first setup their account. When this information is different, the system can't match the test up to that account to post the score, so it creates a new one. Account merges can be submitted by ACT Customer Care agents. All it takes is a call, chat or email with the details of the account, indicating what is correct and incorrect Customer Care (Student Services) 319-337-1270 or 800-553-6244 x1270 https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/web-account-questions.html Have a great day! They covered key points and why it's such a risk for HS students. Some teachers chose to break into groups and had each group do research and present their findings, concerns, and solutions to the rest of their class over a few days. There was a recent 11 minute podcast on NPR Up first that would work for this purpose.
