[Counselors] CREDIT RECOVERY USING ONLINE PROGRAM...IN STUDENT'S SCHEDULE

If it is outside of their schedule, I put it in "other marks" after the credit has been recovered.

In that case, we give them credit for the class in their schedule as well as transcript the course they did for credit recovery.

Okay..what if the credit recovery course does not fit in their schedule?
If they are doing extra course work to catch up.

At Wellston High School this is how we handle this situation.

1.       The class on the student’s schedule always says Critical Thinking until after all the teachers are gone for the summer then …..

2.       I go into the system create another class for the teacher of record that same hour the student took critical thinking and then I enroll that student in that class all year long.

3.       Then I give the student the grade they earned in Odysseyware for each semester.

Hello, all!
Question: If a student is able to take a course online (through Odysseyware, for ex) during a class time/within their schedule:

1.       What do you call that class? We called it Critical Thinking/Study Skills. That is how it was listed on the student’s schedule.

2.       Does the student get the regularly awarded credit for that class or just the credit for the courses completed online?
