Our teachers have to put in 2 grades per week and semester test is 1/7 of the final grade.

We have the same as well - minimum of 2 grades per week. The only difference is our semester exams are cumulative for every class and are a *required* 20% of the student's grade. We made this transition with semester exams when EOIs went away as a way to hold our students accountable. It has worked well, and it also serves to help prepare them for college cumulative exams.

We have the exact same policy-2 grades per week (at least), semester tests can count up to 20%, and all other scores are determined by the teacher.

Our teachers are required to have 2 grades a week. The final cannot be worth more than 20% of their overall grade. As for percentages for tests, assignments, whatever.. or just taking total points for all assignments for the other 80% of their total grade is up to the teacher.

We are looking at changing our grading policy. Do you have a set grading policy for your district? Does each teacher have a say in how their grading is done? Examples: Tests 60% and Homework 40%. 18 grades per semester. No grade over 20% of the total grade.
