[Counselors] changing bodies/ sex talk with grades 4th - 8th

[OSRHEStudent Prep PK-12 Counselor Discussion Board]

The school nurse and I go in and show a video to the 5th and 6th grade boys and girls.  She typically takes the boys and I take the girls by grade level.  The curriculum we are currently using is pretty outdated and our nurse is looking to get a more up to date one.  For 4th grade she and I will go in and do a hygiene talk together and the kids seem pretty receptive to it.  I'm a 4th-6th grade counselor in my current district.

Maybe someone from the health department

We use videos from Human Relations Media company for this. They have a couple of ones about changes and state mandated HIV education.

I use our local health dept and let them take up the slack on this subject. It's a really big help. I am in there w/ them though.
