We have the old Riverside set from 1994. We try to use istation but we only have that up to a certain grade level, so it is not always something that I can use. We use the NWEA benchmark test to determine where a student needs to be placed. shushbeck at vps.k12.ok.us STAR Reading and STAR Math s.brown at caneyisd.org We use the online semester tests from Edgenuity. We use this program for our online students currently. We quit using the Riverside "blue" bag about 10 years ago as it really did not match what our hs teachers taught - especially in the math. Once we purchased Odyssayware for online coursework using those semester tests and since have purchased the Edgenuity. We have also used semester tests the teachers use in their classrooms. jheller at blanchard.k12.ok.us Sabrina Wood Coordinator of Student Preparation for College Readiness Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education swood at osrhe.edu 665 Research Parkway, Suite 200 Oklahoma City, OK 73104 www.okhighered.org/student-prep 405.225.9257 [cid:image001.png at 01D9532A.AF07B4F0] -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... This last time his dad asked about any rehabs for high school students. Does anyone have any suggestions? Sundown Ranch - It is located outside Canton, Texas. They take Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance and I am sure other insurances. They are Wonderful! I believe some of the hospitals in Oklahoma have a short-term rehab. It isn't exactly a rehab, but if there is a CREOKS near the area, the dad (or the school can even make the referral to CREOKs) should reach out to them and try to get his son in for services and if they feel like rehab is necessary, they will find a location and make the referrals. They also specialize in mental health/ drug & alcohol rehabilitation services to low income to no income Oklahoman residents-particularly children and young adults. They even work in the local schools to around their locations. Before I was a GEAR UP coordinator, I interned at the Shawnee CREOKS for a year and then was employed for a year with them as BHCM II/ BHRS and have witnessed firsthand the array of services they can provide and know they work with cases like what is described with this particular student, all the time. If they find it necessary, this student will end up with an entire TEAM of mental health professionals working together to meet the student's needs in multiple aspects and bring in the family as well. I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions about this, please feel free to reach out to me by email or phone and I would be more than happy to help in any way I can. d.coon at sscok.edu Here is one to look into. https://www.addicted.org/oklahoma-adolescent-programs.html Teen challenge is an excellent program! You can Google for more information. If the student is Native American, they can attend the Jack Brown Adolescent Treatment Center. Placement Tests Just wondering what your district uses for placement tests? We have the old Riverside set from 1994. We try to use istation but we only have that up to a certain grade level, so it is not always something that I can use. * We have started using the MAP screening tests this year for placement. Rehab options for Students I have a student that has been suspended multiple times for drugs. This last time his dad asked about any rehabs for high school students. Does anyone have any suggestions? * Rob's Ranch in Purcell - https://www.robsranch.org/ * I asked a friend who works as the clinical director at Gateway to Recovery in Shawnee and his response is below: It sounds like this parent is seeking inpatient rehab services for substance use. I have attached a form created by ODMHSAS that identifies outpatient and inpatient programs in the state of Oklahoma for adults and adolescents. On page 4, you will find the inpatient programs list. There are three places in the state that will accept teens who are male. If the parent wants to get their child placed and wants support, you may direct them to us for assistance. We would be happy to help! Other places will treat adolescents with co-occurring SUD and MH-related problems. The second attachment has these facilities listed. Research supports that most adolescents with SU problems also have co-occurring mental health-related problems. He said you can refer the parents to him even if they are not in our area. But I need one if anyone has a great form I can use as an example. Student is 16, so I am looking for one that would require a parent signature. Thank you, guys, in advance! Thinking of you all as we push forward with the last quarter.
