Message-ID: <51672B9D.6020500@gmail.com> Hello Everyone, This is a friendly reminder that we have a DSIG meeting tomorrow at 3:00 in a google hangout. To RSVP, and then later to join the hangout, visit https://plus.google.com/u/0/103318609149247649134/posts Please let me know if you have anything you'd like to discuss. Here are some of the things I thought we could talk about: 1. Upcoming opportunities to learn and present, unCOILed and iCon. 2. Planning for an online workshop hosted by DSIG. 3. Other ways we can connect to each other. 4. Anything new or interesting we have found. (I have been exploring Google Keep and Evernote.) I'm looking forward to meeting with all of you tomorrow! I think it went well. Hopefully everyone who wanted to join was able to, but please let me know if you tried and couldn't get in. I want to make sure we are including everyone who wants to be included. If you like seeing people's smiling (and un-pixellated) faces, you're in luck! Our next meeting will be in Tulsa on May 9th. We will have lunch together at Yokozuna (http://www.yokozunatulsa.com/) at 11:30 and then head over to OSU Tulsa at 1:00 for our meeting. I've attached a Google Map with (I hope) correct locations and directions, http://goo.gl/7YpFh. Please feel free to come to all or part of our get together that day. In anticipation of our next meeting, would someone care to share what they know about Windows 8? We have been getting some questions here from students who have it. Unfortunately we don't. It would be wonderful to have a volunteer who could talk a bit about their experience with it. Let me know if you are interested in sharing. See you all in May! Message-ID: Hello DSIG, I just want you to know that the DSIG group on grou.ps site is still active although no longer supported. I have been getting spam messages from it lately (spam users create accounts and send out messages from it ? e.g., ?New Blog Entry: Norton Antivirus Error 5013 3 / win 7 antivirus 2012 norton?). Some people from DSIG still have accounts. I do not have administrative privileges any longer, otherwise I would delete everyone I recognize from this site. If you have an account there, you may want to go to the site and delete your it. I have reported the problem to grou.ps. ** On another note, Campus Technology is offering a free webinar on LMS ? it apparently is being hosted by Oklahoma City Community College. Just passing this along (see below). Dynamic, Global, Content Sharing: LMS Evolution or the Birth of a New Entity? WEBINAR: Wednesday, May 22, 2013 | 2 pm EST / 11 am PST REGISTER HERE Dear Casey, LMS has transformed education, enabling educators to create rich, interactive learning materials, effective online assessments and interactive discussions; however, it can also create walls between educators and the content they want to share. How do educators and technologists overcome these problems? Are we about to see an evolution of the LMS as we know it or is it time for a new solution? Join Oklahoma City Community College and Moodlerooms for a discussion about digital content problems that prevent ubiquitous dynamic global content sharing in colleges and universities and how they have overcome these challenges, in addition to gaining deeper insight about: * The importance of content re-use, review, curation and aligning that content to educational standards * New strategies and opportunities for improving content authoring, sharing, discovery, copyright, and delivery * Common cartridge and LTI - two learning interoperability standards that help to improve content sharing and delivery * xpLor, Blackboard's new cross-platform learning object repository and entity that will overcome many of today?s digital content hurdles REGISTER NOW Can't make the live event?
