Hi folks and welcome or welcome back!

Wow, things are bustling on campus today as Orientation and the new 
semester kick off.  The Cafeteria is decorated in Blue and Gold, and 
there are free donuts and beverages out to make our new Freshmen feel 
welcome, and it's wonderful to think that today is the day that a whole 
new group starts its journey into higher education and takes a big step 
toward a brighter future!

Be sure and make plans to come see the Hypnotist, Mark Maverick this 
evening in the Ballroom on the second floor of the Student Center at 
6:00.  This will be just one of several fun activities scheduled for 
this first week of the semester, so check with Dana, Lori or Lauren in 
Student Services to find out what other cool things they have planned to 
make this a memorable first week of class.  I believe there's supposed 
to be a Photo Booth and a Scavenger Hunt, too, so watch for those fun 
activities.

Birthdays this week include our favorite Bookstore Manager and PAWS 
Treasurer, Ali Martinez, and long time custodian, Carolyn Prock, as well 
as retired instructor but regular campus guest, Maurice Hawthorne on 
Friday.  I hope they all have a wonderful day!

Our menu for the week includes:

Monday:      Chicken strips, hamburgers, fries, baked beans, cole slaw, 
brownies

Tuesday:      Pepper steak, rice, green beans, fried squash, hot rolls, 
salad bar, chocolate delight

Wednesday:   Southern fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, 
fried okra, hot rolls, salad bar, apple cobbler

Thursday:      Meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, broccoli, baby carrots, hot 
rolls, salad bar, chocolate cake

Friday:         Pork loin, mashed potatoes and gravy, pinto beans, 
cabbage, hot rolls or cornbread, salad bar, banana pudding
