Hi folks,
 
I hope everyone's semester is off to a good start.  The first couple of weeks can be a bit unsettled, but usually by the end of that time period, everything's going pretty smoothly and the learning is under way!
 
Student Support Services participants need to get in there and visit with Kinya and find out how to qualify to win that wonderful school goody basket they're giving away.  It's got all kinds of neat goodies that will make your college life much easier and they need you to get in there, take a short survey, and get qualified to win it!
 
Tomorrow evening at 5:00, the United Ministries will be hosting an opening night dinner in their building just to the east side of campus.  Students, faculty and staff are all welcome to come, have a great meal, and get acquainted with Rev. April Coates and lots of other wonderful people.
 
There are a few birthdays in our campus family this week.  Sunday, Aug. 25, Allen "Big Al" Kendrick, (the guy on the lawnmower) celebrated his birthday.  Thursday, Gwen McDonald, of our Human Resources office will celebrate her big day, as will Nutrition and Anatomy professor, Dr. Julie Collins.  Please wish these wonderful people a great day if you see them on campus.
 
Lunch menus for this week include:
 
Monday:  Beef tips over rice, oven roasted red potatoes with garlic and herbs, steamed cabbage, fried okra, steamed baby carrots, seasoned greens, dinner rolls, Oreo cheesecake.
 
Tuesday:  Green chili chicken enchiladas, cilantro lime rice, pinto beans, corn bread, zucchini and tomatoes, fried squash, poke cake.
 
Wednesday:  Cube steak, mashed potatoes with white gravy, macaroni and cheese, seasoned green beans, steamed spinach, fried okra, steamed cauliflower, dinner rolls, chocolate poke cake.
 
Thursday:  Lasagna, corn, steamed cabbage, steamed broccoli, cheesy squash, dinner rolls, lemon delight.
 
Friday:  Chicken and dumplings, biscuits, wild rice, steamed Brussels sprouts, seasoned green beans, apples and sweet potatoes, peanut butter cake.
 
Dinner menus include:
 
Monday:  Chicken Alfredo and BBQ smokes with waffle fries, steamed broccoli, seasoned green beans, vegetable blend, sautéed squash.
 
Tuesday:  Cabbage rolls and oven baked corn dogs with baked tater tots, mashed potatoes with gravy, penne pasta with browned butter, steamed carrots, corn on the cob, baked beans.
 
Wednesday:  Pork loin and chicken or cheeseburger wraps with chips, butter beans, red skin mashed potatoes with gravy, fiesta corn, peas, broccoli rice casserole.
 
Thursday:  Dorito bake and cold deli subs with chips, pinto beans, Spanish rice, seasoned green beans, fried okra.
 
Friday:  Cyber menu.
 
Featured Breakfast items for the week will be:
 
Tuesday, Breakfast burrito; Wednesday, Yogurt bar with fruit; Thursday, Homemade French toast; Friday, Waffles with toppings.
 
Featured Lunch items for the week will be:
 
Monday, Chicken strip wrap; Tuesday, Monster dog with chili and cheese; Wednesday, BBQ on a bun with baked chips; Thursday, Fried bologna sandwich; Friday, Fish on a bun.
