[Eoscstudents] Homecoming Week Activities!

Good Morning All! 

 

Next week is Homecoming Week and there are many exciting activities going
on! 

 

Monday, November 3rd - We're starting the week with Decoration Monday! There
will be Window Painting on the north side of the Student Center from 8am to
5pm. Each club or organization has the opportunity to decorate a section of
the Student Center windows displaying Eastern Spirit and the Discover You
theme. Paint and brushes will be available at Student Services to check out
for this event. Please complete your painting by 5pm on Monday. Windows must
be cleaned by 5pm on November 11th. At noon on Monday there will be a Minute
to Win It competition for Spirit Stick points in the Amphitheatre! We'll
finish the first day of Homecoming Week with MEGA Hide n Seek at 6pm. 

 

Tuesday, November 4th - Students are able to compete in the Door Decorating
Contest in the Halls. Each student has the opportunity to decorate their
dorm room or apartment door showing Eastern Spirit. Must be completed by 4pm
for judging. Prizes will awarded for first place in Miller, Johnston & the
Apartments (North & Regents). Also on Tuesday will be THE BLUE & GOLD
HALF-MILE! This will be set up like a mini color run around campus! Students
and Faculty/Staff are encouraged to join in by walking, jogging or running
our half-mile route around campus. VOLUNTEERS to throw powder are needed,
too! Sign up will start @ 4:30pm in front of the Student Center & the "run"
begins at @ 5pm! Also Don't forget there will be a Men's and Women's
Basketball game starting at 6pm!  Join the Mountaineer Maniacs in supporting
our teams in our first Home game!!

            

Wednesday, November 5th - The Big Draw sidewalk chalk contest (weather
permitting) will take place! Each club or organization will be allotted a
sidewalk space to create a mural depicting Eastern Spirit. Sidewalk Chalk
will be provided by Student Activities. Your drawing must be completed by
5pm. Wednesday night there will be a BLACKLIGHT Dance @ 9pm in the Ballroom!


            

Thursday, November 6th - There will be a second Minute to Win it competition
for Spirit Stick points in the Amphitheatre @ Noon! The long-time tradition,
Mr. Eastern Pageant, will be at 7pm in Mitchell Auditorium! This event is
ALWAYS filled with entertainment from start to finish so be sure not to miss
it! 

 

Friday, November 7th - The Homecoming Pep Rally will be at 3:30pm in the
gym! Students and Faculty/Staff are invited to come join us! The band will
play, cheer leaders are stunting and dancing.. and see your favorite
Faculty/Staff get pied! Coronation Practice will follow the pep rally!  

 

Saturday, November 8th - HOMECOMING DAY! At 11am come support and cheer on
Eastern Oklahoma State College royalty, club floats, alumni and many more at
the Homecoming Parade on Main Street! At noon, following the parade, there
will be a cookout in the Amphitheatre. Stick around and DON'T MISS Bubble
Soccer starting at 1pm on the front lawn! There will be student v. student
games & possibly even Faculty/Staff games! SIGN UP TO PLAY in SC 208 or on
Saturday. At 3pm our Lady Mountaineers will play with our Mountaineers
following at 5:30pm! Homecoming Coronation will be between games. 

 

We are also having SPIRIT WEEK this year! There will be daily prizes for the
"best dressed" according to that day's theme.

RULES: No masks or other face coverings in class! No excessive objects on
your body! Be appropriately clothed!

In order to be eligible to win the daily Spirit prize, you must post a photo
in your spirit week outfit to the Eastern Facebook page.

at 5pm that day will be the winner! 




Lastly, there will be a "Treasure Hunt" going on throughout the week. There
are TWO blue ribbons hidden somewhere on campus for Homecoming week. Each
ribbon is worth $50 CASH! HINTS will be given on the Eastern Facebook page
and Twitter account along with on the TV monitors around campus. Pay
attention to these for the whereabouts of the ribbons! Whoever DISCOVERS the
ribbons and brings them to Paige Lowder (Student Life Coordinator) in SC 211
will be given the prize! You can only win ONE prize per student.
