The State Department of Education is concerned about the COVID-19
pandemic's effect on math instruction in our public schools. They have
developed a plan for college students such as yourself to serve as PAID
tutors in mathematics for students in grades 7, 8, and 9 in the public
schools. You do not have to be a math major to apply, but notice that your
application will include a math task to determine competency (do not be
afraid: think back to your math classes in 9th grade). They provide
coaching and instruction on how to be a math tutor. The program starts in
January, but your application is required by October 15, 2021. Your
application will need to include 2 references and your resume, and then
when you hit submit, you'll have the math task to complete. I've pasted in
the email with instructions below; if you have questions, you'll see the
contact information for the director of this program, Mr. Anthony Purcell.

Please give this some thought - besides earning extra money, what a great
experience this is that you can put on your resume!
