The Constitution contains a preamble and seven articles that describe the way the government is structured and how it operates. The first three articles establish the three branches of government and their powers: Legislative (Congress), Executive (office of the President,) and Judicial (Federal court system). A system of checks and balances prevents any one of these separate powers from becoming dominant. Articles four through seven describe the relationship of the states to the Federal Government, establish the Constitution as the supreme law of the land, and define the amendment and ratification processes. *National Resources About the Constitution* - *Constitution of the United States * - *The Bill of Rights * - *Amendments 11-27 * - "The Founding Fathers"—Convention Delegates - Constitutional Q&A - Constitution of the United States – A History - Additional Information -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Eastern adheres to the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for student and employee protocols. You may review this information on Eastern’s website at http://eosc.edu/covid - Reporting of symptoms, a positive COVID test, or close contact is no longer required. - Individuals who have COVID symptoms or who have tested positive for COVID should notify any close contacts and self-report to their instructor or supervisor. - Follow the CDC isolation guidelines listed on the EOSC website to determine how many days you should stay away from campus. - Students should communicate absences from class to their instructors. Like any illness, it is at the discretion of the instructor to excuse absences or allow makeup work. - Employees should communicate absences from work to their supervisor. Employees should use approved sick leave or request to work remotely (if able) to cover their absence from the workplace. Students and employees should continue to use good sensible measures to prevent the spread of all respiratory illnesses, including staying home when sick, using good hand hygiene, and getting vaccinated. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
