Well, it looks like another scorcher in a whole string of them coming
up. What a time for our refrigerator at the house to give up, huh?
Anyone have a spare mini fridge you won't be needing for a week or
two? I called Sears to get a repair appointment, since the fridge is a
Kenmore, and they said they could have someone right over <u>on Aug.
8th</u> between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. I'm pretty sure we're going to have
to break down and do something else before that. Don't get me wrong,
the fridge is several years old and has been really good, but when it
went out, it went out. Of course, it happened at the hottest time of
the year. That's the rule, you know. If your heater goes out it'll be
at the coldest time of the year. Kind of a Murphy's law thing. Some
days it just seems like my name should've been Murphy.<br>

Election day is today, so don't forget to go and cast your vote. I
know there is a hot 4-way race for Sheriff going on, and the District 2
County Commissioner seat has 3 candidates to fill the post left vacant
by the death of the previous commissioner, one of them being a
previously retired commissioner who has decided to come out of
retirement.<br>

If you haven't turned in the form that was in your paycheck envelope
authorizing deductions for payment of your Support Staff Council Dues
and the Flower Fund, please hurry and do so by tomorrow. If you need
a form to do so, let me know and I'll round you up one. I strongly
encourage you to pay your dues and participate in our Staff Council.
It is your voice on campus and we need input from the people who work
here. <br>
