It was only a 4 day work week, but it's still so nice to get to Friday
finally. It was quite an eventful week what with Martin Luther King
Jr. Day giving a lot of us a day off on Monday, then getting to witness
history in the making with the inauguration of Barack Obama as our new
president on Tues. Then yesterday most of the Staff Council met in
Diamond Mills' office to surprise her with the Employee of the Month
award for December 2008. She was indeed surprised and happy to receive
the honor. She takes good care of the people in Mitchell Hall and
several of them turned out to see her presented with the certificate,
free meal voucher from the Cafeteria and a cool EOSC coffee mug from
the Bookstore. Way to go Diamond! Keep up the good work. You are
appreciated.<br>

I noticed yesterday that bricks are going up on the back side of the
new building, and from the smell, I think they must've been tarring
part of the roof. (Progress doesn't always smell sweet.) We're
getting just that much closer to being in the new facility! <br>
<br>
