<P><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">The U.S. Department of Education recently announced 2009-10 FFELP interest rates. Effective July 1, 2009, the interest rates on new FFELP loans will be fixed at: </FONT></P>
<UL>
<UL>
<LI><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">5.60% for undergraduate Federal Stafford Subsidized loans;</FONT></LI>
<LI><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">6.80% for graduate Federal Stafford Subsidized loans;</FONT></LI>
<LI><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">6.80% for undergraduate and graduate Federal Stafford Unsubsidized loans; and</FONT></LI>
<LI><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">8.50% for Federal PLUS loans. </FONT></LI>

<P><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">Interest rates for variable rate loans disbursed between July 1, 1998 and June 30, 2006 are set at:</FONT>
<UL>
<LI><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">1.88% for Federal Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans during in-school, grace and deferment status; and</FONT></LI>
<LI><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">2.48% during repayment or forbearance. </FONT></LI>

<P><FONT SIZE=4 FACE="Times New Roman">Additionally, the interest rate on Federal PLUS loans made between July 1, 1998 and June 30, 2006 is 3.28%.</FONT>
