 SUBJ:  Course Schedule as in compliance through higher education

See attachment concerning course schedule and textbook obligation in higher
education.  Each institution of higher education receiving Federal financial
assistance must comply with regulations.  Langston University is in
compliance with the textbook listing online with the course schedule.  We
still have more work to do as each course offered must be identified with
textbook information.  There were many reasons for not printing out the
Course Schedule Booklet, remaining in compliance outweighed them all.  Other
reasons are information is in real time when course search online or within
SCT system, it enable usage of electronic in preparation of moving forward
to 21st Century, and it helps to cut cost in keeping with the economy
turmoil.

As of July 1, 2010, the Course Schedule Booklet must be attached with the
textbook information.   The attached communicator states the reasoning of
the changes in higher education.

I know this semester will be a challenge as change is difficult for
everyone.  Information concerning Course Search instructions were printed in
the Fall 2010 Course Schedule Booklet and were released April 2010 and
communicators were sent/posted throughout the campus.  Training for faculty
took effect at the beginning of the Fall 2010 semester telling of the change
from booklet to online process.  Training classes were held for students as
well as advertisement throughout the Fall 2010 semester.

Please lets remain in compliance and work within the system.  I appreciate
all of your hard work, effort and most of all, your cooperation on this
matter.
