We will discuss the merits of the BALE curriculum and how it plays a role in student retention for the University. Orlenthia McGowan, Ed.D Seeking Funding and Partnerships for Project/Program Sustainability Wednesday, March 25th @ 1:00 pm Gandy Hall, Adobe Connect Session Synopsis: This dynamic session will address ?Seeking Funding and Partnerships for Project/Program Sustainability? through unique venues and strategies to support your project/program work (including utilizing volunteers, collaborative partnerships and in-kind donations, as well as funding from the public and private sector). Nancy Alexander, Ph.D. Developing Cross Curricular Partnerships Wednesday, April 22nd @ 1:00 pm Gandy Hall, Adobe Connect Session Synopsis: The faculty development seminar will explore how cross curricular partnerships can facilitate deeper learning. Teaching and scholarship in the context of other knowledge allows students to think, learn and reason from an interdisciplinary perspective. Subject areas will include learning modules on the development of Thematic Units and content area integration. All presentations, unless otherwise posted, will take place in person, in Gandy Hall, first floor, Rooms 106-108, which is the computer lab. You may either attend this session in person, or utilize the other two options. All sessions will be broadcast as webinars, as they are occurring. This method will allow you to attend the session from any location you wish. You will have to be able to connect to Adobe Connect or to access the link provided by CTI. You will also be able to ask questions to the presenter via the chat box on screen. If you are not sure about Adobe Connect or have no experience with it, please contact CTI in advance of the presentation and they will assist you with getting set up 405-466-2001. The third option, allows you to watch the presentation as an archived file on the CTI website, a few days after the presentation takes place. For questions, comments, or suggestions to the presenter, you will need to contact that presenter through email. We are also offering two ways to evaluate presentations this year, you will have the choice to receive a paper version in person, or you will be provided with a live link in the advertisement emails, follow-up attendance emails, or on the CTI website. Hall and Rubye Hibler Hall Endowed Lecture Series will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at 11:00 am in the Field House Atrium. The guest speaker will be Congressman Alcee Hastings from Florida?s 20th district. Alcee L. Hastings represents his native state of Florida by serving as Congressman for District 20, which includes parts of Broward, Palm Beach, and Hendry Counties. Congressman Hastings was first elected in 1992 and is currently serving his 12th term in the Congress. Born in Altamonte Springs, he attended Florida's public schools, and graduated from Fisk University in 1958. He earned his law degree from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. I?m sending this in advance of the official announcement that should be coming from our PR office with the hope that we will have respectable attendance at the event.
