Dear Buffy, Jeremy, Kelli, and Tamara,

Way back in 1986, I met a sales representative at a conference. He stated that he had a listing of all the Oklahoma streetlight installations from 1906-1930. This included 5,115 poles in 68 Oklahoma towns.

Over the years, I lost Page Two of this letter. There could be a copy of this in the files (under streetlights or Union Metal). Todd Scott and Jennifer Gates took this information and created a new list for this and then created a file
for each town that has the pole counts and illustrations for the original poles. This large, thick file should be in the design files. This is great information. (Part of the original letter and the new list are attached.)

Recently, while working on a project in Waurika, I contacted the Union Metal folks about this list. I remembered that Waurika was one of the towns with 48 Union Metal light poles as I had been contacted a couple of years ago about these.
They now have a digital list that is very good. The digital list is attached as well.

Also, Larry scanned the drawings for the most popular light poles in each town and created a digital file. He shared this with me. I can share that with you if you need.

Should any of the towns want to determine exactly what their original streetlights were like, this information will help them.

I thought I would share this information with you just in case someone is working on a sidewalk/streetscape project.
