the entire property (including parking lots and vacant land) because most people don’t know everything about a property. Think about how different the outcome might have been for First Christian Church (Egg Church) in Oklahoma City if people knew the education
wing had extensive plumbing for bathrooms; that the theater systems had been updated in the theater-in-the-round wing; that the pulpit came up from the basement like an elevator; that it had so much extra land to support 1200 parking spaces, an outdoor theater
and a separate school building. All of which has been demo’s and will soon be a new mixed-use development.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif">With that said, the SHPO would like to start a social media piece every two weeks that will focus on a NRHP listed property in a Main Street community that is currently vacant.
The idea is to engage the local community on creative ideas for use. I’m not necessary talking about turning a building into a skate park or a training facility for the circus (watch the video of her presentation) but just to get people talking about the vacant
buildings and potential uses. <u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif">The property that immediately came to mind is the former Post Office,/current Police Station in Sapulpa. Such a beautiful piece of historic architecture (listed in the NRHP)
that people are talking about demolishing for a new building. <u></u><u></u></span></p>
