From CARGILL at VSAC.org Tue Dec 29 12:45:01 2015 From: CARGILL at VSAC.org (Marilyn Cargill) Date: Tue, 29 Dec 2015 18:45:01 +0000 Subject: [NASSGAP50] First official planning meeting for the 50th! Message-ID: <03FA126BC565FB4B9ACD182A05712D9761DB7FBB@MBX1.corp.vsac.org> Jennifer, Chris, Diane, It's time to really make some progress and create a list of possible celebration ideas followed by accepting some assignments so we can get going on designing NASSGAP's 50th anniversary celebration which will be here before we know it! I'm including some of the things we did in 2006 to help get our creative juices flowing! Events for the 40th: 1. President's reception was a little larger than normal and we invited Past Presidents to attend for the cost of the reception but not needing to pay registration fee (2 retired Presidents attended) 2. Group dinner was a cruise on Lake Champlain with a champagne toast, anniversary cake (Cake for 60 was from Cakes for Fun and cost $25.00!), and President's awards to deserving members. 3. All attendees received a fleece blanket embroidered with the NASSGAP Logo and 40th Anniversary 4. The hosting state provided a state gift to attendees as did some attending states 5. Chas Treadwell (wonderful former member from NY) created a written NASSGAP History (which Chris updated during her year in office) 6. Many past-Presidents sent messages and letters in response to the invitation that were shared with attendees throughout the conference. 7. We posted pictures of Past-Presidents on the walls of the meeting room with fun factoids from their reign and the year they were in office 8. We had a powerpoint slideshow of former meetings and members that was projected during breaks and during the reception. I am free the following dates and I'm hoping that one of those will work for us. Please indicate in the box below which of these work for you and I will schedule our first official meeting!
