Dear NASSGAP Colleagues,

The NASSGAP Conference Planning Committee has been hard at work planning the first-ever virtual conference to take place October 13-16. We have some logistical details yet to finalize, but we wanted to share some of our plans with you to whet your appetite and help you plan ahead.

  * We will be utilizing the Zoom videoconferencing platform, which allows members to connect via the web with video and audio or via the phone with just audio.
  * Any and all agency staff of paid NASSGAP members may register to attend and participate for free! Without the cost of registration and travel limiting our numbers, we hope to have our highest participation ever.
  * To accommodate members during the regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in all U.S. time zones from the East coast to Alaska, sessions will take place from 12 - 5 p.m. EST, Tuesday, October 13 through Friday, October 16.
  * The conference will feature a mix of sessions that vary in length from 30 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes, depending on the topic.
  * We understand that Zoom fatigue is a real thing, so we will provide breaks between each session. We also understand that some members may not wish to attend every session, and that is understandable and even expected.
  * From your past survey responses and our own experiences, we know that networking and learning from colleagues is typically the best part of every NASSGAP Conference. Although those opportunities are difficult to recreate in a remote environment, we are working hard to still provide time and space for such interactions. We will have four hour-long sessions dedicated to State Roll Call (look for an email from incoming President Todd Brown soon with more information on Roll Call). We will also have some additional "conversation" sessions that will be unscripted and unrecorded. We will provide a conversation topic and a moderator (ready with discussion prompts if needed), but otherwise we want these sessions to be an opportunity for the states to learn from each other.

We hope to share registration details very soon. For now, continue to save the dates and share with others in your agency.

Stay safe and be well!
NASSGAP Conference Planning Committee
