It's not looking good for us at all, honestly...we're currently down over 600+ students in headcount (-4.9%) and down over 9,000 in credit hours (-5.6%). In terms of reasoning, we're hearing the same responses we normally do (can't afford it, family issues, personal issues, taking a break), and even though we've received some COVID-19 related reasons, it hasn't been the dominating justification we thought it would be at this point. I put a hold on those requests with a statement about our directory information process being reviewed by our administration in consultation the Attorney General’s office, but there might be a delay because of COVID-19; this gave me time to work with our IT team to design a form for such requests. In that interim, two of the generic Gmail requestors said they “no longer needed the information”. Once the form was designed, I emailed all of the requestors in my data request ticket holding file a link to the form to restate their request through our new, official means of request. Of the 13 remaining requests, only two have requested information. I’m sharing a link to our request form, as it seems to be effective in “weeding out” the phishing type of requests. On the University of Oklahoma (Extended Campus) application, we ask the following "security" questions to be answered by the applicant: 1. Have you ever been expelled from a high school? 2. Have you ever been expelled or suspended from a college or university as a result of a non-academic issue? 3. Are you currently under a felony indictment, have you ever been convicted of a felony, entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendere, received a suspended/deferred sentence to a felony charge, or have you ever had a protective order issued against you? 4. Are you or have you ever been a "prohibited person" within the meaning of 18 U.S.C.A. §922(g) who cannot possess a firearm? 5. If formerly in the military, did you receive an Other Than Honorable Discharge, Bad Conduct Discharge, or Dishonorable Discharge? The applicant would then answer "Yes" or "No" to each question.
