[Oacrao-l] Question about catalog changes

At OSU-CHS we follow a procedure similar to OSU-IT. We make minor updates if needed throughout the year. We have the following statement at the beginning of ours:

Policies and regulations in this Catalog are effective July 1, 2020 and apply to all students. The provisions of this Catalog may be subject to change as a result of official administrative actions. We reserve the right to apply such changes to registered and accepted students as well as to new admissions. No contractual rights between the Center for Health Sciences and any student are intended and none may be deemed to be created by the issue of this Catalog. The Center for Health Sciences is not responsible for any misinterpretation of its requirements or provisions resulting from editorial or printing errors

Hello Sheila,

For OSUIT, typically, academic changes are held until the start of the new academic year (Fall). Other, minor changes may be made immediately in the online catalog. We no longer provide print copies of the academic catalog, so it is understood the online academic catalog is the most accurate and current information available.

Additionally, we include the following statement regarding changes at the beginning (inside cover) of the catalog.

"This catalog offers information about the academic programs and support services offered by the University. This catalog is as accurate as possible, but the information may not remain current for the entire academic year. Circumstances may prompt changes in courses, course content, credit, fees, regulations, semester calendar, curriculum, degrees offered, and other University matters. Such changes authorized by the University apply both to prospective students and to those previously enrolled, unless the latter are specifically exempted."

I would like to know how other schools handle requested changes in an already published catalog.  Are requested changes held until the next catalog is published or are they implemented immediately and published later?  How and when are you given notice that there have been changes?

Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
