[Oacrao-l] FERPA Question

Hello!

Does your institution have included in your FERPA policy that permits parents of dependent students to have access to education records if the student is claimed as a dependent on their most recent Federal Tax Return? From what I can tell this is something that postsecondary institutions may do but are not required to?
