related to community colleges and Adult Admission. I apologize for the

Instruction requirements effective with the 2012 high school graduating class
and high school diploma issue (students who do not pass end of instruction
tests will not receive a diploma) and how that impacts college admission, I was
asked if the community colleges were "o.k." because they were open
door institutions. I said no, because policy states Adult Admission means
21 years of age or older or those on active duty in the military. Several
of you indicated that community colleges could admit students without a high school
diploma or GED and I was quite sure that was not allowed and said so. <u>My
statement is inaccurate</u>.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=default><font size=2 color=black face="Times New Roman"><span

<p class=default><font size=2 color=black face="Times New Roman"><span

brain dropped 3.9.6C.2 (I looked in old policy books - it was there). As you
see below, item 1. is the information I communicated. Section 2.
[emphasis added] <u>does</u> allow student admission without a GED or high
school diploma. Therefore, community colleges may admit students who do
not pass EOI tests under ACE. </span></font><font size=2 color=black
face=Calibri><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri;color:windowtext'><o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
