<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Cambria,serif">Those
students seeking a second baccalaureate degree must meet all admissions and
graduation requirements of a first-time degree-seeking student. To have a
second degree conferred, the student must </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:27.35pt"><span style="font-family:Symbol">·<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;font-family:'Times New Roman'">
</span></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Cambria,serif">have
completed the first baccalaureate degree at a regionally-accredited college or
university as defined by the catalog section titled Acceptable Institutions for
Transfer Credits.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:27.35pt"><span style="font-family:Symbol">·<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;font-family:'Times New Roman'">
</span></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Cambria,serif">select
a different degree (e.g. if the student graduated with a Bachelor of Science,
the student must select a Bachelor of Arts)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:27.35pt"><span style="font-family:Symbol">·<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;font-family:'Times New Roman'">
</span></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Cambria,serif">select
a major from a different academic department than the major of the first
degree. (For example, if the student’s first degree and major was a Bachelor of
Science in Psychology, the student may not select a Bachelor of Arts in
Behavioral Science as the second degree major. Instead, the student might
select a Bachelor of Arts in English.)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:27.35pt"><span style="font-family:Symbol">·<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;font-family:'Times New Roman'">
</span></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Cambria,serif">complete
all required courses of a second degree program including any required General
Education courses not completed in the first degree. General Education courses
completed in a first degree do not need to be repeated. Any major course
previously credited at SCU may not count towards the fulfillment of the second
degree. At least 30 credit hours must be completed in courses offered through
SCU of which 21 must be upper division. <span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,0)">However, if the first degree was
completed at SCU, the student needs only complete 15 of the 30 credit hours
through courses offered at SCU, all upper-division.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:27.35pt"><span style="font-family:Symbol">·<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;font-family:'Times New Roman'">
</span></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Cambria,serif">complete
all courses required for the second degree program at SCU including any lower
division or religion courses not taken as a part of the first degree.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:27.35pt"><span style="font-family:Symbol">·<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;font-family:'Times New Roman'">
</span></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Cambria,serif">have
not earned the first degree with a double major.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:6pt;font-family:Cambria,serif"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Cambria,serif">A

Good morning! We have an applicant who has earned a BS at another institution who is wanting to return to ORU to obtain an additional bachelors. He has already completed 30 credits from ORU. I believe that the OSRHE requires a specific percentage of major courses to be completed at the institution awarding the degree. How would your institution handle this scenario?<br>
