<i>Institutional Admission and Retention</i> policy and a new stand-alone <i>Concurrent Enrollment</i> policy<i>.
</i>The revisions and the new policy are effective Fall 2017. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN" style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The State Regents’
<i>Institutional Admission and Retention </i>polic<i>y</i> establishes minimum curricular requirements, criteria, and standards for admission to State System institutions, as well as standards for retention. As a result of much of the existing concurrent enrollment
policy language not fitting within the scope of admissions and retention, the concurrent enrollment language was deleted from the
<i>Institutional Admission and Retention</i> policy and inserted it into a new stand-alone
<i>Concurrent Enrollmen</i>t policy.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The
<i>Concurrent Enrollment</i> policy provides a framework for State System institutions to offer concurrent enrollment to eligible high school juniors and seniors. Overall, the policy specifies concurrent enrollment admission, course placement, and retention
criteria; defines the environments and conditions in which concurrent enrollment is offered; details specific standards associated with offering concurrent enrollment; and sets annual reporting requirements.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The
<i>Concurrent Enrollment</i> policy also includes several changes to the previous concurrent enrollment criteria. Most notably, changes were made to the existing admission and course placement criteria to expand access to concurrent enrollment. Additionally,
new off-campus concurrent enrollment standards were established to increase guidance to institutions wishing to offer concurrent enrollment at high schools and other off-campus locations.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">A summary of the substantive changes to the criteria and a copy of the recently approved
<i>Concurrent Enrollment</i> policy are attached. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Lastly, additional guidance regarding the
<i>Concurrent Enrollment</i> policy will be available after the Council on Instruction approves revisions to the State Regents’
<i>Academic Affairs<o:p></o:p></i></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Procedures Handbook</span></i><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">. It is anticipated that the revisions will be approved later this summer.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
