I realize not every newspaper in Oklahoma carries Doonesbury, and that even if yours does, the strip may not be one of your favorites. But, the one today is NOT political but speaks to all of us in Oklahoma. The premise is this: Mike Doonesbury and his wife Kim are discussing having his mother move into their home (near Seattle). Mike's mom still lives on the family farm outside Tulsa but her health is failing. A fly in the ointment.....what about mom's boyfriend, Karl? Enjoy........ http://www.doonesbury.com/strip/dailydose/ All of this prompts my philosophical question, how old does a man have to be before he isn't a "boy"friend? Pam McConahay Assoc. This initiative solidifies college access as part of the guarantor's mission and requires the Department of Education to work with the guarantor community to ensure that information about planning and paying for college, career planning and financial literacy is available to the general public. To help fulfill this requirement, OGSLP is working with the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs (NCHELP) and Mapping Your Future (MYF) to develop a national portal to state-specific information. Our assignment is to build an Oklahoma specific section that includes listings of programs available in our state. We have received listings of TRIO and GEAR UP programs throughout the state, but are now in the process of identifying local and community based programs and efforts. Examples of these types of programs could include local outreach centers, summer bridge to college programs, early awareness programs for junior and high school students, adult learner advisement programs and other access and financial aid awareness and financial literacy projects. If you are aware of local programs of this nature, please contact me at redington@ogslp.org or (405) 234-4333. Our initial deadline for the national portal is August 31st. However, we will be updating and managing the information on an ongoing basis. Thanks for your help in ensuring that Oklahomans have a robust directory of access oriented programs! I booked thru MLTVacations leaving on the 27th and returning the night of the 30th. The conference starts on the 28th and ends the 1st. I've usually had all I want by the end of the day on Thursday so this is working out good for me. However, if you just really want to stay for those repeat sessions on Friday, this won't work for you. :-) It ends up $471 for roundtrip airfare and 3 nights at Ballys. If you're taking other people for the same room, the additional airfare is only $159 per person. One note though, you must book both the airfare and hotel, because if you try to do just airfare, it is significantly higher. The conference is in the Paris, but Bally's is connected to the Paris and the conference rooms are in between the two hotels, so it doesn't matter which hotel you are in as far as the conference goes. You can also book the airfare w/ Paris, but it's quite bit higher. Hope this helps, Jonna -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
