DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Texas A&M University-Corpus  Christi, a master's 
comprehensive university with over 8,000 students is  
searching for a Director of Financial Assistance. The 
University is  committed to becoming one of the leading 
centers of higher education in the  Gulf of Mexico region 
while serving the intellectual, cultural, social,  
environmental, and economic needs of South Texas.

The Director of  Financial Assistance  reports to the 
Associate Vice President for  Enrollment Management and 
will be responsible for the administration of  
institutional, federal and state financial assistance and 
scholarship  programs and for the overall operation of a 
student-focused  department.

The Director will  develop financial aid and financial  
service strategies that support the University's 
enrollment, retention  and tuition revenue goals; direct 
and manage student financial aid and  scholarship programs; 
counsel students and resolve problems; participate as  part 
of University's enrollment management team; ensure 
compliance with  federal, state, and institutional 
regulations; prepare and submit reports as  required; 
coordinate activities as appropriate with other campus  
offices;  ensure proper disbursements and monitor fund 
balances;  keep up-to-date concerning financial aid program 
regulations, assist in  review and revision of policies and 
procedures; provide administrative  review of athletic 
grant-in-aid programs and NCAA requirements and reports  as 
needed; and serve as primary resource person for 
committees involved  with financial aid and/or 
scholarships.  Perform other duties as  assigned.  

Required qualifications:
A Bachelors degree.   Five (5)  years of progressively 
responsible professional experience in  financial 
assistance or a related area.  Candidates must demonstrate  
excellent written and oral communication skills and 
working knowledge of  financial aid/student information 
systems.  Experience in managing  staff, budget 
development, and strategic planning; knowledge of federal,  
state, and institutional financial aid programs and the 
role that  financial aid plays in increasing student 
recruitment and retention.   In addition to commitment to 
educational access and support to students and  families, a 
demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to  
serve as an articulate spokesperson for the mission and 
values of the  institution

Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree.

Salary:  Flexible based on qualifications.
