LOCATION:         Platt College - Central Campus

POSITION
STATUS:               Full-time

JOB SUMMARY:               Assist the Default Manager with the Debt Management functions, ensuring compliance with all policies.  Work with state and federal agencies to ensure all regulations are followed and necessary information is provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
-        Conduct exit interviews for graduates and withdrawals within regulated timeframes; Conduct or participate in camps based Financial Literacy Workshops and events; Meet with students while in school to reinforce the rights and responsibilities of borrowing; Assist students in understanding and successfully managing their student loan obligations in conjunction with other basic financial obligations through Financial Literacy programs; Contact students during their grace period to remind students of upcoming student loan payments; follow-up with students during initial Repayment period to reinforce Repayment Rights and Responsibilities; Assist in the ongoing evaluation and revision of established default management procedures; Work in conjunction with designated lenders and guarantors to implement their default management tools and strategies; Accurately track, reconcile and report on projected cohort default rates on a monthly basis; Positively impact the annual cohort default rate by applying proven strategies and providing borrower assistance to minimize the number of borrowers who default on their student loans; Former students may be contacted by e-mail, telephone or mailed correspondence; Update NSLDS for changes in student enrollment status

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
-        Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
-        Experience in financial aid, retention and admissions/placement procedures
-        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-        Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs to include Microsoft Office Suite
