Position Summary
The Student Success Specialist for Student Financial Services will report directly to the Director of Student Financial Services.  Specific responsibilities include working with students to assist them with completing the Financial Aid process. This would include working in Colleague (Ellucian) both on the financial aid and AR screens; following up with problem solving issues surrounding the FAFSA application; helping students complete steps for student loans, parent loans, and private loans; problem solving issues for students with verification, and working with students that still owe a balance.  This position will be trained on Touchnet and self-service to best assist both the Bursar's Office and Student Financial Services Office.  This position will offer follow-up assistance to help students who have been offered services through CSAS to extend scholarship opportunities, or to students who have been offered appeal opportunities for federal/state aid.
Characteristic Duties

  *   Using Ellucian Colleague financial aid module and AR module, will assist students in completing their financial aid file and resolving their account balances
  *   Professionally assist with FAFSA, helping students navigate completing the FAFSA; or troubleshooting rejected FAFSA's, C code FAFSA's or problems with the FSA I.D.
  *   Professionally assist students with Inceptia to answer basic questions regarding verification
  *   Remain knowledgeable for basic information regarding Federal loans, and private loans; in order to assist with completing the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Loan Counseling
  *   Remain knowledgeable of TU Scholarship requirements in order to assist the students with their understanding of renewal of these funds
  *   Remain knowledgeable of TU's payment plan options and Bursar's policies to assist students with payment in order to continue enrollment

  *   Run and work Informer reports that will identify populations of students needing assistance in the above areas

  *   Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Financial Services and Bursar
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree; a working knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs; the ability to maintain confidentiality standards of the department, and have excellent customer service skills; ability to run and work Informer reports
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a Student Financial Aid Office/Bursar or related financial aid field; working knowledge of Colleague Information System
