From matt.short at okstate.edu Tue Jan 10 12:01:59 2023 From: matt.short at okstate.edu (Short, Matt) Date: Tue, 10 Jan 2023 18:01:59 +0000 Subject: [Oasfaa] Institutional Research Workload Message-ID: Please respond to me directly, if you can. Currently, a lot of non-functional reporting is being dumped on me by our IR. I will be unable to do almost anything other than reporting between now and February. I have not had to do this previously. I have always done operational reporting, FISAP etc. I am now being asked to do IPEDS, Common Data Set, and US News and World Report - among others. I am willing to train the folks in IR to do this work, and I have queries built to do most of it. I think that is a very reasonable way to manage this. Can you please let me know how your institutions handle this? I need a little benchmarking to help make my case. NO…this is not an ad for Colonial Penn! BUT…if you are under the age of 55 you can delete now as this will not apply to you. 😊 I want to let everyone know that Gary Garoffolo has made the decision to retire, for real this time! And in true Gary fashion and humor, he is going out on FRIDAY THE 13TH!!! Gary has worked in financial aid in some compacity since 19**…if you are reading this and you know Gary then you know the year! 😊 There’s really no need to make us all feel our age anymore than we already are! He has been an incredible asset to Oklahoma students and was instrumental in working with ED in the early stages of Direct Lending. Gary has forgotten more about financial aid than many of us will ever know about financial aid. The man…the myth…the legend…has been a work horse for our profession both in the office and as a consultant and has changed the trajectory of countless students’ lives!
