I'm pasting them below my signature, I hope that they don't run together. For those of you looking for a template for a Policies & Procedures Manual, go to the North Carolina association web site at http://www.uncwil.edu/ncasfaa/welcome.htm and download their sample Financial Aid policies & procedures manual. Also, I updated the Simple Needs Test chart for 2000 tax returns, and paper copies were given away at the conference. Ricky McCullough is arranging to have it posted on the OASFAA web site, but if you can't wait for that and didn't get one in Tulsa, I'll be happy to e-mail you a copy. Located in Ithaca, New York, Cornell University, a research university and member of the Ivy League, has seven undergraduate and six graduate schools and colleges enrolling approximately 19,000 students. As a land-grant institution, the University has a tradition of serving New York State and a long-standing commitment to need-blind admissions and to offering need-based financial aid to all students. This newly created position is an opportunity to participate in Cornell?s new and exciting enrollment initiatives that are being developed to support and highlight Cornell?s unique seven College system. The Dean provides leadership in the assessment, analysis, and implementation of financial aid strategies with a focus on enhancing Cornell?s competitiveness, evaluates market conditions, establishes Cornell?s financial aid and student employment policies, and represents the institution nationally on issues pertaining to financial aid. The Dean will also serve as the Chair of Cornell?s Financial Aid Strategy Group. The good news is that Dawn Scott (who has been responsible for a number of scholarship programs such as the Academic Scholars Program, Regional Baccalaureate Scholarship, Future Teachers Scholarship, George & Donna Nigh Scholarship, William P. Willis Scholarship, and others) is getting married! The bad news is that she is up and moving to sunny Florida with her new hubby in a few weeks. Dawn has been with the Regents' office for 7 years and has done a wonderful job administering these programs. We'll miss Dawn sorely, and wish her the best as she starts a new adventure. Dawn's last day in our office is tomorrow. More Good News: The other good news is that Alicia Harris will be assuming Dawn's responsibilities, effective immediately. Some of you may already know Alicia, who has been working for the Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program for the past four-and-a-half years. Most recently, Alicia has worked as a Client Relations Specialist. We are extremely pleased that Alicia has joined our staff. All inquiries related to the programs that Dawn administered can now be directed to Alicia at (405) 524-9131 [its the same phone number that Dawn had]. Those programs include all the following: * Academic Scholars Program * Chiropractic Education Assistance Program * George & Donna Nigh Scholarship * Heartland Scholarship Fund * Independent Living Act (Foster Care Tuition Waiver) * National Guard Tuition Waiver * Oklahoma Tuition Scholarship Program * Regional Baccalaureate Scholarship * Sharon Neuwald Scholarship * William P. Willis Scholarship * Oklahoma Public Works Scholarship More Good News: Also, for those of you who work with OHLAP (Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program), you may already know that we have added a staff position to assist Carol Alexander with OHLAP. Lynn Dennis came to us from the financial aid office at Oklahoma City Community College and has been on board for a couple of months. Lynn has extensive financial aid experience and is a great asset for OHLAP, which continues to grow by leaps and bounds. On OHLAP issues, you can reach Carol at (405) 524-9160 or Lynn at (405) 524-9152. If you plan on returning a completed Eligibility Status Report, please do so BEFORE noon today. If you plan on submitting individual student updates (faxed update forms or e-mail messages) please do so BEFORE noon today. Updates mailed by regular mail by noon today will not be accepted as having met this deadline -- the money available will have been committed before your mail arrives in the OTAG office. ANY UPDATES RECEIVED AFTER NOON TODAY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR WHAT IS EXPECTED TO BE THE FINAL NEW AWARDS PROCESS FOR 2000-2001. Reports and e-mail updates, as well as questions concerning this new awards process, should be addressed to reports@otag.org. The reports mailbox is constantly monitored regardless of particular staff members' presence in the office. For faster service, please use this address for general inquiries and submitting reports and updates instead of addressing mail directly to individual OTAG staff members. Faxes should be sent to 405.234.4392. Sorry if this seems overly specific; however, we wanted to make sure we're all on the same page regarding the deadline and what might happen (or not happen) if you respond with updates for otherwise eligible students after noon today. We're running out of time in the semester, and we have a very limited amount of money to work with -- there won't be opportunities to add any additional students after noon today. If you have questions or need assistance with submitting student update information this morning, please don't hesitate to contact the OTAG office at 405.234.4356 or toll free 1.877.662.6231. Please make sure all of your staff members who work with the OTAG program are reminded of this deadline for submitting updates. ************************************************** Shiela Joyner, Director Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant Program Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education P.
