ASSISTANT DIRECTOR POSITION AVAILABLE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF EVANSVILLE,
EVANSVILLE, INDIANA

DESCRIPTION OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer state of Indiana grant program.
Monitor the satisfactory academic progress of all financial aid recipients.
Counsel students and parents regarding financial concerns and the financial
aid application process.
Coordinate various specific scholarship programs with the UE Office of
Development and Department of Athletics.
Work with the Director in the awarding of merit scholarships to accepted
freshmen.
Perform the majority of verifications of students' applications when they
are selected for this process.
Assist other staff in the administration of all federal and University
financial aid programs.
Work closely with other staff members to perform need analysis, financial
aid packaging and other procedures necessary to deliver financial aid to
students.
Assist in conducting on-campus and off-campus outreach programs, such as
high school financial aid workshops, University open houses and student
orientation and registration sessions.

DEGREE AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required.  Master's degree preferred.
The applicant should have strong administrative and leadership abilities,
excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills and give
careful attention to detail.
A knowledge of Title IV aid programs is preferred.
One to two years experience in financial aid is preferred.

DATE AVAILABLE AND SALARY RANGE

September 1, 2001
Salary will be commensurate with qualificaitons and experience.

Financial Aid employs a staff of seven permanent employees and three
student-workers.  Approximately 90% of the full-time students receive
