From pmcconahay at ou.edu Mon Dec 3 14:37:19 2001 From: pmcconahay at ou.edu (Mc Conahay, Pamela K) Date: Tue Mar 23 20:21:43 2004 Subject: [Oasfaa] Bizarro World Message-ID: <55206A473154D011924D0020AFF7ACB508B29E0F@mail1.oulan.ou.edu> I've been inundated with comments from people who expected more from me following the OSU victory over OU on Nov. 24. Frankly, I agree with Bob Stoops....OSU outplayed us and deserve our congratulations. Boy, did saying that feel weird or what?!! Even weirder....Charlie Bruce wearing a crimson tie at SWASFAA?!! The Weirdest: watching the last quarter of the Big 12 Championship game and finding myself ROOTING FOR TEXAS?!!!! (I hollered & clapped for that last Texas touchdown before I realized what I was doing!) In case everyone who sent this to me (Charlie Bruce was first) forgot to send it to you....a little OSU vs OU humor: Norman, OK (AP) "Oklahoma University Athletic Director Joe Castiglione announced today that, due to recent developments, the renovations at Owen Field are well ahead of schedule and will come in under costs. Seems over 71,000 fans s**t a brick during the fourth quarter of the bedlam football game, providing the necessary materials to begin work right away." Then, a story on the front page of today's Norman Transcript (for real!) entitled: "Stadium Renovation Now on Accelerated Schedule"! To read the full story, go to http://www.zwire.com/site/news.asp?brd=1285 and scroll down. I think I'm living in a parallel universe.......... Brad Burnett Director, Financial Aid Services University of Oklahoma (405) 325-9627 bburnett@ou.edu From sjoyner at otag.org Thu Dec 6 09:01:05 2001 From: sjoyner at otag.org (Joyner, Shiela) Date: Tue Mar 23 20:21:43 2004 Subject: [Oasfaa] Fall OTAG Updates Message-ID: <67B1776185FFD311926100805FC11F9D957852@handel.ogslp.org> Good Morning, It appears that some folks may have misunderstood regarding the OTAG November 30 deadline for reporting packaged status, requesting fall award transfers or reinstates, or requesting disbursement adjustments or supplements (basically any transaction that would result in an award payment in the fall semester). Trusting that schools would be able to adhere to the deadline which was announced several times, we made what we expected to be final fall award commitments earlier this week, and our funding commitments were comfortably determined based on our belief that we had received all updates expected. We now find that a few students have been left out through no fault of their own because the deadline was not met by their school. We are offering a one-time, one-day reprieve from the deadline. If you have any additional students to report to OTAG (and we are absolutely not expecting to hear from any school regarding a significant volume of students -- our funds are already comfortably over committed) do so by 5:00 p.m. today, December 6, 2001. Again, we are not expecting to receive, nor can we accommodate, any significant volume of additional transactions. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE FINAL DEADLINE FOR FALL DISBURSEMENT ACTIVITY -- NO ADDITIONAL EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Folks, for the good of the whole we have to reach a point where the deadlines set by OTAG are meaningful, and we request your future cooperation in this effort. *********************** Shiela Joyner, Director Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant Program Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education P.
