The position also is responsible for the monitoring of the Federal Work Study program. Essential Job Functions: 1. Extensive Counseling: assisting incoming or current student with all aspects of the financial aid process. This includes phone calls, personal conversations and mailings. 2. Monitoring Federal work study program: Processing timecards through Excel, collecting paperwork (class schedules, contracts, packets), updating FWS files, posting help wanted information within the program, working with Finance office with processing. 3. Monitoring Financial Aid documents and files: Ensuring that students are receiving all eligible aid possible, are not in an over award situation and that data in file is accurate and organized. 4. Default Management: All aspects of prevention including exit counseling, additional unsubsidized meetings, phone calls to graduates and withdrawal students, personal conversations and mailings. Any appeals to the draft default rate are included in this position as well as improving current policies to benefit our former students. 5. Exit Interviews: Audit each exiting student’s file to verify that all has been completed, compile exit materials, and establish communication to graduate via exit session or withdrawal student via certified packet or verbal conversation. Notify lenders via NSLDS system and SSCR reports and provide borrower with appropriate information such as loan amounts, contact information, etc. 6. ECLIPS and PowerFAIDS: Working with the electronic system for transmitting loan applications and maintaining file information. This process is conducted daily 7. EDE Express: working with the US Department of Education software from retrieve data on a daily basis 8. Monitoring Scholarships: Assisting Director in scholarship activities, including Homecoming and incoming scholarship data. 9. PowerFAIDS: Manage program in regards to upgrades, migration etc. Work with IT department and College Board to assess problems and rectify. 10. Other duties as assigned by Director of Financial Aid Knowledge, Skills & Abilities To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the incumbent must have possess a Bachelors of Art or Science in any field or a minimum of 4 years financial aid experience. Incumbent must work with a high degree of accuracy, courtesy, timeliness, logic and structure. Incumbent must also possess patience and strong interpersonal communications. Other Requirements: This position functions in an office environment. It required general use of office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, facsimile, etc. Must be able to work with PowerFAIDS, EDE, and Eclips software after extensive training. Major Accountabilities: 1. Ensure office personnel is complying with job description 2. Maintaining default management plan through exit counseling, continuing education, and lender notification 3. JC Watts is quitting Congress, Larry Bird is coming back to the NBA as general manager of a new expansion team for Charlotte, Stacey Dales-Schuman is helping lead the Washington Mystics to the top of the Eastern Conference of the WNBA......what could be better? I'll tell you what-----The NCAA has just announced that OU will again host the 1st & 2nd rounds of the women's NCAA basketball tournament in 2003, AND, even BETTER, WE GET TO HOST A REGIONAL in 2004!!!!! YAAAAAHOOOOOO!!!!!!! MORE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL AT LLOYD NOBLE CENTER!!!!!!! OK, you can go back to work now and I'll stop dancing. The auditors are here, I should be more sedate.
