<BR>Assistant Director of Financial Aid/Student Employment Coordinator
<BR>
<BR>Full-time position with excellent benefits. Responsible to the Director of
<BR>Financial Aid for assisting the Director with administering federal, state,
<BR>and institutional funds; for administering federal, state, and
<BR>institutional student work program; and counseling parents and students.
<BR>
<BR>RESPONSIBILITIES:
<BR>¨ Administer and evaluate federal, state, and institutional work
<BR>programs to include providing direction to department supervisors,
<BR>assisting students with I-9s and W-4s, awarding/revising work awards,
<BR>providing placement, distributing/collecting time sheets, and processing
<BR>student payroll. (15%)
<BR>¨ Counsel current and prospective students and parents regarding the
<BR>financial aid process and programs. (10%)
<BR>¨ Administer federal, state, and institutional funds according to
<BR>regulations, including maintaining knowledge of regulations, researching
<BR>issues, and assisting with award packaging philosophies. (9%)
<BR>¨ Calculate financial aid awards for the academic year and
<BR>summer. Revise financial aid packages. (9%)
<BR>¨ Access and perform technical functions for financial aid, loans,
<BR>and work study programs. Collaborate with Computer Services to improve
<BR>utilized computer system functions. (8%)
<BR>¨ Write and revise policies and procedures for financial aid, loans,
<BR>and work study. (7%)
<BR>¨ Manage the Federal Family Educational Loan Program and alternative
<BR>loan programs. Assist loan processor to improve process. Meet with
<BR>outside vendors. Maintain knowledge of regulations. Conduct entrance/exit
<BR>interviews, etc. (5%)
<BR>¨ Calculate return of Title IV funds and refunds of state and
<BR>institutional aid for withdrawals and partial drops. (4%)
<BR>¨ Hire, train, and supervise full-time/work student and practicum
<BR>graduate students. (4%)
<BR>¨ Manage and monitor student employment department budget. (3%)
<BR>¨ Assist in edit and verification of applicants selected for
<BR>verification. (2%)
<BR>¨ Assist in the completion of surveys/reports including FISAP
<BR>report. (2%)
<BR>¨ Assist in the creation and revision of financial aid forms and
<BR>publications. (2%)
<BR>¨ Assist with funded/endowed awards, special circumstances, and
<BR>appeals as needed. (4%)
<BR>¨ Present at various institutional events and attend high school
<BR>visitation nights as needed. (2%)
<BR>¨ Advise external entities on scholarship selection processes and
<BR>recommend possible recipients. (1%)
<BR>¨ Meet with external auditors. (1%)
<BR>¨ Attend national, state, and regional workshops and conferences. (4%)
<BR>¨ Serve on various institutional committees. (4%)
<BR>¨ Attend financial aid, computer, and loan meetings. (4%)
<BR>¨ Perform other related duties as assigned.
<BR>
<BR>QUALIFICATIONS:
<BR>Requires a bachelors degree in business, accounting, or related field; two
<BR>years of related experience; and excellent oral and written communication
<BR>skills. Masters degree desired. Knowledge of computers and familiarity
<BR>and software packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerFAIDS helpful.
